A New Era: The Dallas Dhu Distillery Tour
In 1898, the Dallas Dhu Distillery was designed and constructed by legendary icons of Scotch whisky, Alexander Edward and Charles Doig. After nearly a century of producing classic Speyside single malt, the distillery fired its stills for the final time in 1983. Today, guests are welcomed to enjoy a rare opportunity to step back in time and to delve into the distillery’s Victorian past and learn about traditional whisky-making techniques.

The Art of Whisky Making at Dallas Dhu Distillery
Enjoy a step back in time with a guided tour through the heritage Dallas Dhu Distillery; perfectly preserved since last producing spirit in 1983. As you work your way through the Victorian distillery, you’ll visit locations that are key to whisky making – stepping onto the atmospheric malting floors, gathering around the vintage mash tun and then marvelling inside the ‘silent’ still house.
Your guide will pour three carefully considered drams along the way, displaying the effects of traditional whisky making once practised at Dallas Dhu Distillery.

Join the Dallas Dhu Team for an expertly guided tour, stepping through the perfectly preserved, Victorian distillery — last producing whisky in 1983. After journeying through history and discovering more about the traditional whisky making techniques at Dallas Dhu, learn more about the fundamental relationship between spirit and oak. We call it ‘The Art of Maturation’.
You will be presented with four drams, produced by Murray McDavid, showcasing different cask influences that enables the independent bottler to develop its impressive range of inspired Scotch whisky.

Winner of the ‘Best New Event’ – Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2025
This in-depth experience offers an access-all-areas tour through the vintage distillery and will conclude with an unmissable masterclass of five historic drams produced during Dallas Dhu’s bygone era. You’ll be guided through the rich heritage of the Victorian distillery, whilst considering the building’s historic design and its old-school whisky-making machinery.
The experience will conclude in a private tasting room, where you will be expertly guided through four vintage bottlings of single malt whisky distilled at Dallas Dhu between the 1970s and 1980s.
